Top Varsity Golfer, Gavin Quinlan, finished out the season in a strong way with a Regional tie-breaker shootout for a spot in the sectional competition.

Astros Boys’ Golf had a satisfactory season with a final record of 3-11, however, Coach Oziemkowski does not believe that this season’s record reflects the talented group of golfers
this year.

This year, the Astros closed out their season at the regional competition with a good fight resulting in an eighth place finish and a strong personal 25th place finish by Quinlan.

In addition to Quinlan, Tucker Carter, Dan Hoge, Zac Walthers, Logan O’Leary, and Phil Boersma competed at regionals, finishing out their season with regional finishes of 41, 44, 46,
47 and 51 respectively.

These results were about what were expected after finishing out the conference match with a sixth place finish with standings similar to those at regionals among the team.

While this season fell short in the win column, Oziemkowski is hopeful for the future of the program. He believes that there is a strong core group of golfers that will be easy to build a team around. There is strong promise in the future of Shepard Boy’s golf and if all of these core golfers live up to their expectations Shepard may have a winning Golf team within the next year
or two.
