The Astros repeated as a state qualifier closing out the regular season with a 7-2 record. They closed out the season with a come from behind 40-28 over Argo.

This earned them a home playoff game against Springfield.
The return of Kevin Graham from injury sparked the Astros. This allowed them to use Rishard Blake in other capacities.
Graham, who had three passing  touchdowns in his debut at quarterback thought that moving to quarterback is really fun, but acknowledged that it was indeed a challenge.

Meanwhile Chris Harrison, two way starter felt the team came out strong, physical, and fast in the beginning which led to a first round victory 51-36.
Harrison also electrified the crowd on special teams. He set a new school record for punt yard returns with 246 yards! The previous record was held by Sean Carlin with 213 yards.
Following that big first round win Shepard turned their focus to sixth ranked Normal West
The Astros ended up losing the extremely hard fought game despite leading for most of the game, falling 26-17.
All though the season didn’t quite end as wanted, the graduating senior class finished with a four year record of 32-7.


On an individual level the team set several records. Through the end of the season senior defensive back DaMarco Washington tied Ben Moline for most career interceptions in Shepard’s history of 7.

Washington also broke the school record for total turnovers in his Shepard career with 10, passing Ontario Pryor and Allen Ross who both previously had 8.
