Muhammad Ends Wrestling Career with a Strong Senior Season

Although the wrestling season fell short of the conference championships won in 2017 and 2018 or the multiple qualifiers of a year ago, the season did have some highlights. Alex Muhammad placed fourth in the South Suburban Red Conference which took place at Argo Community high school.

He fell short of qualifying for the state finals when he finished fifth at the Hinsdale Central sectional on February 14th and 15th.

Although he hoped for a better fate at sectionals, he enjoyed an outstanding career as a Shepard wrestler.

Head Coach Scott Richardson is proud of the growth Alex has shown the past four years.

“Alex has been a starting varsity wrestler for four years and I could not be more proud of not only the wrestler he has become, but also the man he has become,” said Richardson. “I cannot wait to see what the future holds for him”.

Muhammad finished his senior year with a 32-15 record. He was a two time sectional qualifier and the varsity captain.

“Alex was a great leader and role model for the younger wrestlers in the program”, closed Richardson.
